Hub Ottawa, a place to create, meet and play

Wonderful news for Ottawa doers, innovators and idea-makers; Hub Ottawa has finally found a home. Hub, which is part of an international network of like-minded organizations, is settling down (and shaking things up!) on the 6th floor of 71 Bank St. at Bank and Sparks. According to the Hub World website, the space will be a cross between “the best of a member’s club, an innovation agency, a serviced office and a think-tank that help create a very different kind of innovation environment. Places with all the tools and trimmings needed to grow and develop new ventures. Places to access experience, knowledge, finance and markets.”Hub Ottawa’s founding team believes that there is unbelievable intellectual capital in Ottawa, but that these sharp minds don’t often have opportunities for cross-sectoral social innovation or collaboration. Hub Ottawa founders will continue to make the Hub a place to brainstorm, learn, innovate, to access knowledge, resources, experience, connections and investment; a place to encounter and interact with, diverse people doing amazing things. While it will have reliable office architecture for both individuals and small organizations, the founding team made it clear that it would be a space for fun as well, with art exhibits and other social gatherings set to take place on a regular basis.The core members of the Hub have been gearing up for this day for almost a year now and, throughout the last few months, have begun putting creative minds together to see what potential lies ahead for the city.
